AUSTRALIAN coach Ricky Stuart took time out yesterday to run his eye over the talent from Townsville’s Ignatius Park College and Southern Sydney school Endeavour Sports High, when the two teams played a friendly at Shark Park.
While the teams fielded sides consisting mainly of Under 16s, Endeavour did boast schoolboy prodigy Matthew Mundine, a standout in this year’s Arrive Alive Cup. The Southerners were coached by former St George workhorse Jeff Hardy..
WOW, WHAT A GAME OF SCHOOLBOYS RUGBY LEAGUE 27/10 THURSDAY'S GAME BETWEEN Endeavour SHS and Ignatius Park at Shark Park was great to watch, a few dozen screaming parents, a few sharkies officals and even Australian and new Cronulla coach Ricky Stuart was impressed with the way that the Ingy & Endeavour boys played today. All the guys that played today are in their schools Under 16's team, both teams had players who competed in this years Arrive Alive Cup including AAC Player of the Tournement Matthew Mundine who sneaked in for a late try.
The scores are not important as the footy seaon is over for the young fella's so this end of year muck around game is the second year in a row that Ignatius Park have travelled south for, we look forward to their return next year too.
After the game both teams sat on Shark Park and Endeavour coach Jeff Hardy thanked the Igny boys for coming down to play again.
On Friday Igny Park take on Matraville SHS, some of the boys had their heads bandaged up so it will be a interesting game. - Good luck to both teams, (Enjoy your new billets boys, great to meet ya's today, we'll send a cd full of pic's of the game to yr school - thanx 4 the footy) Learn More or (here @ qrl.com.au ) Anyway, here are a few photo's of the game, we hope you enjoy looking at them..

Ignatius Park Warm up on Cron-Caringbah's Oval, after finding out their gamewith Endeavour SHS is to start early.
wake up jeff, who's this - is he asleep ?
Thommo is not the only star in these sheds.
Igny play the ball for another attack, ESHS were off side here which allowed the Queensland boys to push on and score this set.
It doesn't get better that this, the open spaces of Shark Park must be great fun to run on, and this run is a good run of about 45 meters.
got me have ya ? oppps; that's the wrong way mate -
says the Endeavour winger.
i think i've got him, the Igny defender thinks, good series of run - chase footy - see the ref, he's on the spot
good diving try to Endeavour SHS, ( pity the cameraman was too slow ;-)
let's get it away from here, Ignatius kick out of trouble after repelling another dangerous Endeavour attack
good committed play by both schools
Igny whip the ball wide to Simeon Fuller after a nice quick 2nd row scrum feed.
TRY TIME, Fuller beats 2 defenders, Ignatius played the 1st half with plently of spirit.
a good team effort kept Igny in the game early. ahhhh, that's the go boys, we can go again
Local hero and Sharks meter making machine Lance THOMMO Thompson pops into the Igny Park changerooms for a chat.
