MATT MUNDINE STARS IN NSW KOORIE SIDE
MURRIS BEATEN IN SERIES OPENER 07/11 THE NSW Under-16 Kooris scored a convincing 36-14 win against their Queensland Murri counterparts on Saturday night at Aussie Stadium, in the first of a three-match Indigenous series to be played prior to the remaining Tri Nations fixtures in Sydney and Brisbane.
It was sweet revenge for the NSW team, reversing their 36-24 loss in April this year in Brisbane, where the same two teams played the curtain raiser to the Anzac Test.
NSW cruised to 24-0 lead in the first half, with rampaging front rower Matt Mundine, this year’s Arrive Alive Cup player of the year, creating havoc with every touch. With the Queensland forwards struggling to put Mundine to ground, his offloads set up several NSW raids throughout the.. Learn More |
IGNATIUS PARK'S SECOND ANNUAL TOUR OF SYDNEY - Well Thursday's game between Endeavour SHS and Ignatius Park at Shark Park was great to watch, a few dozen screaming parents, a few sharkies officals and even Australian and new Cronulla coach Ricky Stuart was impressed with the way that the Ingy & Endeavour boys played today.
All the guys that played today are in their schools Under 16's team, both teams had players who competed in this years Arrive Alive Cup including AAC Player of the tournement Matthew Mundine who sneaked in for a late try.
The scores are not important as the footy seaon is over for the young fella's so this end of year muck around game is the second year in a row that Ignatius Park have travelled south for, we look forward to their return next year too.
After the game both teams sat on Shark Park and Endeavour coach Jeff Hardy thanked the Igny boys for coming down to play again.
On Friday Igny take on Matraville SHS, some of the boys had their heads bandaged up so it will be a interesting game. - Good luck to both teams, - We all look forward to your trip down here in 2007. (Enjoy your new billets boys, great to meet ya's today thanx 4 the footy) Learn More

THE CRONULLA KID WITH BIG 'SOX' TO FILL 31/10 Teenager Michael Lennox has some way to go before he reaches the majors but he has the drive to succeed, Winsor Dobbin writes. 'I think about baseball 24/7. Having seen my competition over there, I know I have what it takes'
MICHAEL Lennox is just one of the guys at Endeavour Sports High School in Sydney's south. He's 17, he's doing well with his year 11 studies and is popular with his peers.
What makes Lennox different from his classmates is the fact he has a $US100,000 ($132,000) contract with the Boston Red Sox in his pocket and a career path already mapped out.. Learn More |
