Story By Westfields SHS Photos By : ourfooty media
Westfields Sports 24 v Endeavour Sports 6
What a great game by our team, they took control from the kick-off and remained in charge till the final whistle.
The first half was a free flowing game with only 2 penalties given by the referee.
The first try was scored by Fraser and converted by the very safe boot of Jacob who had another all inspiring game at lock.
The next try went to Guston who receive a pass from our halfback Sam and stepped through six defenders to score from 20 metres out, again Jacob converted taking the scrore out to a lead of 12 points to nil.
Not long before halftime Endeavour's dummy half passed the ball which went through three sets of hands for their second rower to run 20 metres for his, and his team's only try which was successfully converted to give the opposition their 6 points.
Half time score Westfields Sports 12 Endeavour Sports 6.
The second half started the same as the first, with just 5 minutes on the clock when Tyron crashed over for his try, the conversion attempt met Jacobs boot sweetly guiding it through for a further 2 points. Score Westfields 18-6
I don't know who the coaching staff selected as man of the match but I feel sure Jacob must figure in their considerations, he played a big part in his teams success not only in theis game but throughout the season.
I was Jacob who scored our last try and again converted it for a perferct display of goal kicking.
Tries: Fraser, Guston, Tyrone & Jacob.
Goals: Jacob 4 form 4. |

SHS |
Westfields Sports travelled to Coonabarabran for this University Shield match on Wednesday 23/8/06. Westfields Sports won 46-14.
“A strong display by all 20 players. Some early mistakes handed possession to the opposing team but a spirited defensive effort kept our line strong. Excellent individual efforts from Heka Nanai and Hermani Moala turned the tables and Westfields lead at the break 24-8.
A good second half performance with the majority of the more experienced players rested and the younger boys stepping up.
Overall, excellent performances from Wes Middleton, Heka Nanai, Hermani Moala, Joel Latham, Tony Williams and Daniel Loader.”

Parramatta Sports School Challenge 19/6/06 |
Westfields Sports was drawn against Hills Sports in the annual Parramatta Sports School Challenge held at Guildford on Wednesday 19/6/06. The 13’s, U14’s, U15’s and U16’s squads participated in the competition. Westfields Sports won 2 and lost 2.
U13’s Westfields Sports 14 Hills Sports 16
Westfields Sports were beaten in a close encounter. This was the first time the squad had played together. Good performances were noted by David Klemmer and AJ Poko.
U14’s Westfields Sports 14 Hills Sports 12
Another close encounter. Westfields failed to convert a number of opportunities and really should have won more comfortably. This win also counted as a Buckley Shield game. Westfields remain undefeated in this competition.
U15’s Westfields Sports 36 Hills Sports 16
An excellent performance. After having 4 NSWCHS representatives this year from this squad, they have continued to develop and play well. Some new players have also joined this Westfields Sports squad this year and they have added strength to the side. Olomanu Usini was the standout player of this game.
U16’s Westfields Sports 6 Hills Sports 13
Westfields Sports carried a lot of injuries into this game, we gave it our all but were unlucky. The squad should be stronger for the State Knockout. Strong performances by Sama Sauvao, Simon Teaupa, Uiva Logoifiti.
