13/10 SOUTH Sydney has signed Norths Devils halfback Luke Capewell to a two-year deal with the NRL club, following a three-try effort in the FOGS Colts Challenge grand final.
Capewell represented the Queensland under 17s and Queensland Schoolboys in 2006, and has been selected to play for the Australian Schoolboys on their tour of Europe later this year.
He is also a scholarship holder with the Australian Institute of Sport, and will play with the Brisbane Easts Tigers in the Queensland Cup competition for the first year of his contract with the Rabbitohs in 2007.
"It has been a long time since this club has secured the services of an up-and-coming player, external to our own juniors, with the ability of Luke Capewell and we're pleased to announce that he will be with us for at least the next two seasons," Rabbitohs chief executive Shane Richardson said.
"He is the outstanding player from his age group, with all of the skills, and with more time to develop his game and to work with the team we have here, we're sure he can become a top-level player in the NRL." |
