SG Ball Update
The Melbourne Storm Under 18 side are entering their final week of preparations for the 2012 SG Ball competition beginning on Saturday Feb 11.
The young Storm boys face a tough first month with 4 away games, starting with the Dragons at Kogarah this Saturday at 1.30pm.
The squad has had a very solid preparation with trials against the Storm scholarship squad, Riverina Academy, and a final hit-out last Wednesday against the WA Reds SG Ball team.
This was the first time the Storm had their entire playing squad together and the coaching staff were pleased with the efforts of the players throughout all of the trials. With some improvements in key areas of the game the 2012 Storm squad should prove to be competitive and will be looking for some early wins from their first 4 games on the road.
The venue for home games is still to be confirmed but the Storm is hopeful of playing the majority of these games at Cross Keys Reserve in Essendon.
The first home game is against Balmain on March 10 at 1.30pm. Further details of this game and all home games will be released as soon as possible.
The complete draw is listed below. The final squad for game 1 will be released by Wednesday.
