EELS JUNIOR REP'S ANNOUNCED
Parramatta has announced its SG Ball and Harold Matthews Cup squads for 2008.
Coaching and management staff finalised their 23 man squads after trial victories over Illawarra at the weekend.
The SG Ball side, coached by Troy Pezet, is looking to defend the title won by the club in 2007 while the Matthews Cup will be out to improve on its semifinal finish.
“The depth has been outstanding,” Parramatta Development and District Teams Coordinator Ben Rogers said.
“There’s been more in terms of quality and quantity which made narrowing the squads down to 23 players extremely difficult.”
Both squads play their final trial on Saturday against Manly at Brookvale Oval. Harold Matthews Cup kicks off at 3.30pm with SG Ball to follow at 5pm.
“We’ve got high hopes for the squad given the achievements of the past few years,” Rogers added.
“We’ve been in the finals regularly and won the Ball in 2007 so they’ve got a lot to live up to, however all going right I see no reason why we shouldn’t threaten again.”
The 2008 SG Ball and Harold Matthews Cup season begins on Saturday 16 February against St. George at Cabramatta Sports Ground. |
