Guildford Owls Vs Five Dock RSL battle in the semi of the 2006 Under 13's Coca Cola Cup

The weather was not suited to attractive, attacking Rugby League at St Marys on Sunday, with rain pouring down throughout the day. However, the players from all four sides put on a good display in their efforts to make the final.

Strong defence in wet conditionsIn the first game of the afternoon, the Guildford front rower
S Tanginoa was dominant, scoring 7 tries in his team's 48-12 defeat of Five Dock RSL. The game started out quite even but the bigger Guildford forwards gained the ascendency and the backline, well lead by five-eighth S Lapualo, capitalised on their good work.

De La Salle Vs Glen More Park in the Semi of the 2006 Coca Cola CupThe second game saw Glenmore Park defeat De La Salle Caringbah 36-0. Again, the game started as an even match-up, but Glenmore Park dominated field position throughout the majority of the match and were able to convert this pressure into a commanding lead. Among the best performers for Glenmore Park were Alan Niulesa (2 tries) and Tahu Soatini (1 try, 2 goals).

The rain pouring down against the scoreboard at Western Weekender StadiumUnfortunately De La Salle Caringbah suffered a number of injuries, leaving them a player short for the majority of the second half. This allowed Glenmore Park to dominate the match even further, substantially adding to their points tally towards the end of the game.

Both Guildford and Glenmore Park now progress through to the Coca-Cola U13's Challenge Final to be played at Aussie Stadium, Friday, 15th September.

COCA COLA CHALLENGEGLENMORE PARK & GUILDFORD OWLS thru' to Coca Cola Cup Grand Final. In blizard conditions the semi Finals of the CCC were played at Western Weekend stadium on Sunday with a large crowd their to watch the cream of Sydney's Under 13's boys Rugby League.
Guildford Owls JRLFC Man of the Match the young Guildford Owls lock had a great game dominating the ruck with strength and speed, and in the process picked up 7 tries for his team in the semi against Five Dock RSL.
Glenmore Park Brumbies JRLFC logoGlenmore Park proved too strong on the day for De La Salle Caringbah in the 2nd game of the Semi Finals.
Good running and strong defence enabled Glenmore Park to score 3 good team tries in the 1st half and in the 2nd half were the key to keeping De Le Salle scoreless for the whole game.
The second half was difficult for both teams to control the wet footy and Glenmore were able to keep about 85% possession which left De La nothing to do but tackle, which is heaps of fun in the rain.
There were a few injuries from the game, jacko - broken nose, nick - hammie, andrew - ribs, it's been a long disrupted season for the De La U 13A's, now it's finally over. BRING IT ON 2007
Good luck to both Glenmore Park and the Guildford Owls in Friday nights
