White Ribbon day falls this Sunday, November 25, the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

It is a day where the silent majority of non-violent men can, by wearing a white ribbon, make a statement to all men that they will not commit, condone or stay silent about violence against women.

To demonstrate his commitment to the White Ribbon Day cause and highlight the shocking statistics of violence against women in Australia - where almost half of all women will be victims of physical or sexual abuse in their lifetime - Gordie agreed to be filmed in the despised Blues jersey.

The message is that society should be embarrassed by the abuse of women in any form.

With so many female parents and administrators currently involved in junior rugby league, the Stingers are encouraging all members of the league community to get behind the cause and spread the message
